BRI unit microbanking

DEWA MALEN WOOD CARVING

Located in the village of Kemenuh in Sukowati, one of the sub-districts in Gianyar (Bali), Dewa Malen woodcarving business was initiated in 1994 by Dewa Ngaken Ketut Suarbawa, the owner. He was assisted by his wife, Sang Ayu Made Setiawati, both of whom were high school graduates. Determined to develop the business, they decided to open an art shop at home, which was later called “Dewa Malen” Wood Carving.

Bank Rakyat Indonesia - International Visitor Program (BRI-IVP) offers unique training program which is based on study visit to the BRI-Unit offices to allow the participants to learn various aspects of microbanking practices from experienced managers and staff. The program is designed to help microfinance institutions, microbanks, commercial banks, development banks, government agencies, central bank, NGOs, donors and investors interested in developing sustainable microfinance to enhance their microbanking business development.
